eLearning Training Attendances

Practical, hands-on eLearning workshops are offered through Staff Professional Development to help staff prepare their courses each semester. Staff attendances at workshops for January - August 2017 total 517 participants.

Change management

During Semester 2 the eLearning Systems and Support team and ITaLI will be giving joint presentations to whole school meetings. The presentations will cover Best practice online course site design, Active learning support and Grades management and security. To date a presentation has been delivered to one school and another 17 school presentations are currently booked.

eLearning Solutions Service

The eLearning Solutions Service is designed to help staff implement the UQ eLearning tools that most successfully solve common teaching and learning problems. The eLearning Solutions Service to date in 2017 has catered for 71 Course Coordinators teaching into 106 courses and servicing a total of 14 886 student experiences across the university. The top three most common individual tools implemented are online marking/submission, group management, group peer assessment and ePortfolio respectively.

The number of jobs for August 2017 decreased by 3.9% when compared to August 2016 yet increased by 4.3% when compared to August 2015 yet decreased by 63.4% when compared to July 2017.

Course Management jobs for August 2017 decreased by 21.6% when compared with August 2016 yet increased by 44.8% when compared with August 2015 yet decreased by 88.8% when compared with July 2017.

Tools & Other jobs for August 2017 increased by 0.7% when compared with August 2016 yet decreased by 3.6% when compared with August 2015 and decreased by 32.8% when compared with July 2017.

The majority of jobs were distributed through Tools & Other (83.38%) with Course Management (16.62%).


There were nine Urgent jobs during August 2017. A breakdown of the Urgent jobs are as follows.
Checkbox (2), Blackboard Groups (1), Turnitin (2), Blackboard Assignment Tool (3), Blackboard Course Content (1). All requests were responded to within an hour.
