Workshops run and staff attendances

Practical, hands-on workshops in teaching and learning technologies are offered through Staff Development to help staff prepare their courses each semester. There were no workshops run in October, it being a month focusing on preparation for end-of-semester exams. 9 workshops are scheduled for November with an estimated attendance of 120 participants.  This year to date, 90 staff workshops have been run with a total of 901 attendances. Since 2012, there has been a total of 8,051 staff workshop attendances.

eLearning Solutions Service

The eLearning Solutions Service is designed to help staff implement the UQ eLearning tools that most successfully solve common teaching and learning problems. The eLearning Solutions Service to date in 2021 has catered for 321 Course Coordinators teaching into 418 courses which constitutes approximately 12.12% of all courses in the university and servicing a total of 57,486 student experiences across the university. The top three most common individual tools implemented are Online quiz / exam, Online marking / submission and Grade Centre.

The number of jobs for October 2021 decreased by 31.3% when compared to October 2020 yet increased by 8.9% when compared to October 2019 and increased by 7.8% when compared to September 2021.

Course Management jobs for October 2021 increased by 29.7% when compared with October 2020 yet decreased by 9.9% when compared with October 2019 yet increased by 66.5% when compared with September 2021.

Tools & Other jobs for October 2021 decreased by 46.5% when compared with October 2020 yet increased by 19.9% when compared with October 2019 yet decreased by 19.7% when compared with September 2021.

The distribution of jobs were mainly in favour of Tools & Other (64.53%) with Course Management (35.47%).

RESPONSE TO SUPPORT REQUESTS FLAGGED AS URGENT BY CLIENTS

During October 2021 there were nine (9) Urgent jobs. A breakdown of the Urgent jobs are as follows.
Blackboard Assignment Tool (1), Blackboard Groups (1), Exam related (1), Turnitin (6).

All but one Urgent requests were responded to within an hour.
