Workshops run and staff attendances

Practical, hands-on workshops in teaching and learning technologies are offered through Staff Development to help staff prepare their courses each semester. This year to date, 120 staff workshops have been run, with a total of 1,132 staff attendances. Since 2012, there has been a total of 6,852 staff workshop attendances.

eLearning Solutions Service

The eLearning Solutions Service is designed to help staff implement the UQ eLearning tools that most successfully solve common teaching and learning problems. The eLearning Solutions Service to date in 2020 has catered for 288 Course Coordinators teaching into 356 courses and servicing a total of 47,150 student experiences across the university. The top three most common individual tools implemented are Online quiz / exam, Online marking / submission and Virtual Classroom - Zoom .

The number of jobs for July 2020 increased by 44.2% when compared to July 2019 and increased by 52.7% when compared to July 2018 and increased by 45% when compared to June 2020.

Course Management jobs for July 2020 increased by 56.6% when compared with July 2019 and increased by 66.2% when compared with July 2018 and increased by 48.2% when compared with June 2020.

Tools & Other jobs for July 2020 increased by 14.8% when compared with July 2019 and increased by 20.6% when compared with July 2018 and increased by 37.3% when compared with June 2020.

The distribution of jobs were mostly through Course Management (70.5%) with Tools & Other (29.5%).

Of note - The large volume of Course Management jobs are accounted for due to a large volume of merging Flexible and external sites. Even so this was the highests ever month for Total Jobs (1790) and Course Management jobs (1262) and the second highest ever for Tool jobs (528).

RESPONSE TO SUPPORT REQUESTS FLAGGED AS URGENT BY CLIENTS

There were fifteen Urgent jobs during July 2020. A breakdown of the Urgent jobs are as follows.
two of Blackboard Access, one of Blackboard Assignment Tool, one of Blackboard Grade Centre, one of Blackboard Population, four of Blackboard Tests, two of Blackboard Tools, three of Course Request, one of Turnitin.

All Urgent requests were responded to within an hour.
