Navigate by questions
Navigate by questions is used when graders mark the same question for all students to enhance the marking reliability. This marking approach is applied when questions are assigned to graders so each grader will mark a certain number of questions. Refer to the Mark and feedback in Inspera guide for instruction on marking.
- In the Grader or Planner section, click on Marking.
The first student and the response for question 1 will be displayed.
- Enter the mark for the response
- Select the student number from the student number drop-down menu to continue marking the same question for the next student.
Optionally, click on the up arrow or down arrow to navigate to the previous or next student respectively.
The selected student's response is displayed
Note: Marking in Inspera is anonymised to ensure impartiality is maintained.
Filter questions
When marking by questions, graders are able to filter the questions you are assigned/required to mark, i.e., automactic marks do not require marking.
- Click on the All questions drop-down menu:
- All questions: Displays all questions, whether they are completely marked or not.
- Manually marked: Displays all questions that are categorised as manually marked questions such as Essay and Upload Assignment, whether they are completely marked or not.
- Automatic marks: Displays all questions that are categorised as automatically marked questions such as Multiple Choice, Drag and drop and Hotspot, whether they are completely marked or not.
- Answered questions: Displays all questions that have been answered.
- Select Manually marked from the all questions drop-down menu.

- Flagged: Students who the grader has designated for follow-up or other actions.
- Incomplete marking: Students who require marking to be completed.
