Collaboration ePortfolio Set up Steps - Student created option (Original)
Step 1 Access
To set up a Collaboration ePortfolio you will need an ePortfolio account with Course Coordinator (Assessor - Limited administrator override) access. Refer to the Create Course Staff Accounts guide.
Step 2 Build
When setting up a Collaboration ePortfolio for group assignment / project in your course you will need to include the below components:
- Table of Contents (TOC): This is the base of the shared ePortfolio each student group will produce. It could consist of only a "Home" page with groups adding the additional pages needed OR a collection of pages with instructions to scaffold the task.
An additional TOC will also be needed to create a link from your Learn.UQ (Blackboard) course and the ePortfolio. - Assessment instruments (only if the assignment will be submitted in the ePortfolio): Rubrics that also contain settings for who will mark the assessment task and when the results will be released to students. Individual criterion within the rubric can be linked to individual outcomes.
- Learn.UQ (Blackboard) course link: A link will need to be added to your Learn.UQ (Blackboard) course to allow students to access the ePortfolio system.
- Blackboard Assignment: This will be needed if students are required to submit a link to their shared ePortfolio to a Blackboard Group Assignment for marking.
Step 3 Test
To test your ePortfolio set up:
Submitted to the ePortfolio System
- Use the Become student tool to access your program's ePortfolio as a student
- As a student create a Collaboration workspace, invite members and create a Portfolio. Refer to the ePortfolio Collaboration workspace student guide.
- Submit the shared ePortfolio as a student to yourself.
- Go back and enter the ePortfolio as an Instructor and mark the assessment submitted. Refer to the Assessor guide by Chalk&Wire.
- Delete test student submissions. Refer to the Access Completed Assessment guide by Chalk&Wire - Delete instead of Releasing the assessment.
Submitted to a Blackboard Group Assignment
- Use the Become student tool to access your program's ePortfolio as a student
- As a student create a Collaboration workspace, invite members and create a Portfolio.
- Create a web link for the Portfolio. Refer to the Share Your Portfolio student guide by Chalk&Wire.
- Submit the link to the Blackboard Group Assignment. Refer to the Blackboard assignments student guide
- Go back and enter your Learn.UQ (Blackboard) course as an Instructor and mark the assessment submitted. Refer to the Blackboard Assignment guide.

Life of the Collaboration ePortfolio
Once a Collaboration ePortfolio has been set up, it would normally be used by all future student cohorts unless there was a major change to the task. The Learn.UQ (Blackboard) course link would need to be edited for every new course. Refer to the Create an Assignment Submission link.
