Create marking committees using CSV (Ultra) - eLearning - University of Queensland

Marking committees are used in the following use cases:

A course has different tutorial/prac/workshop groups; each tutor needs to mark the students in their respective tutorial groups.
Each grader would like to mark a certain number of student submissions.

The other marking options include:

Question assignment: Each tutor/grader marks one or more questions in a test

Note: Committees created this way are for tests created directly in Deliver.

The workflow to create marking committees involves 2 steps:

Enrol students in the Inspera test using a CSV file. Students need to be enrolled in the test before they can be enrolled in the committees.
Create marking committees in Inspera using CSV files:
- Download the group set (i.e Tutorial/Prac/Workshop group list)
- Create tutorial/prac lists in CSV files for each committee
- Upload the CSV files to the Inspera test.

Notes:

When Committees are enabled, you must ensure that every Grader has been assigned to a Committee.
Committees can be edited but must not be deleted due to some known technical issues that create issues (i.e. students cannot be deleted from the committee).

Create marking committees in Inspera using CSV file

Download the group set

Access your Learn.UQ course's Groups.

Click on the three dots (...) of the required group set (e.g. Workshop).

Select Export from the drop-down menu.

Uncheck the Group sets only option, leaving the option Members only checked. This will generate one file with students' names and their groups.
Click on the Export file button.

You will see this message pop up on the screen.

You will receive this notification email. You can go to your course from here or access it from the already open tab.

Reaccess your course's Groups.

Click on the three dots (...) of the required group set.

Select Export from the drop-down menu.

Click on the Export button.

The file you requested is available. Click on the download icon to download the file.

Save the tutorial group grade centre list to your relevant course folder on your device. File name: Course Code + TUT/PRAC/WORKSHOP list
Open the downloaded list from Step 13.
Click on the Yes button.

The file has the students' User Name and their corresponding Group Code to be used in the next steps.

Create tutorial/prac lists in CSV files

Now you will need to prepare the CSV file with two columns: committee name and Username without column header.

Delete columns C, D, E, F, G, H etc. Keep column A - Group Code and B - Username.

Delete the header row (Group Code, User Name, etc.)
Optionally, change the Group Code to the tutor's name in Column A.

Save as the file with the "Tutor name + committee".
Select CSV (Comma delimited) type.

Upload the CSV files to the Inspera test

Access your Inspera test (Deliver).
Add graders/tutors to your Inspera assessment.
Click on the Manage button (Committees).

Click on the Add committee button.
Select Add from CSV from the drop-down menu.

Select the committee file you saved in Steps 15-16.
Click on the Open button.

If you see the 'Success import' message, click on the Close button.

The committee will be created with tutor's name and enrol students from the uploaded list.

Click on the Tutor Name check box.
Select the Edit graders option.

Select the relevant tutor name from the list.
Click on the Finish button.

Note: When Committees are enabled, you must ensure that every Grader has been assigned to a Committee.
