Why would I record a reason for a mark change?

It is good practice to document the rationale behind any changes to marks or grades. This practice enhances the security of grades and, when used alongside the Mark History report, ensures the accuracy of all marks and overall grades at the end of the semester.

Mark changes should be completed in the tool used to mark the assessment.

Record a reason for a mark change

Select Gradebook from the navigation bar.
Select Students from the Gradebook navigation bar.
Click on the Search textbox, enter either the student's first name, last name, Username or ID.
Once student has been located, click on the student's name.
Select Notes from the navigation bar.
Click on the Add a note textbox, record details of mark or grade change.
Click on the Save button.
Note will be recorded with details of staff who created it.

Tip: To edit or delete the note, click on the Elipsis (3 dots), select Edit or Delete from the drop-down list.
Click on the X button to close the student.
