The Learn.UQ course template supports teaching staff in delivering a consistent student learning experience across all courses and includes required items to meet minimum presence requirements.

A consistent course design helps students quickly locate resources, navigate with confidence, reduces cognitive load, and supports students who rely on assistive technologies to ensure all students can focus on learning, rather than navigation. For advice on getting started with your Learn.UQ course, please refer to the Getting started with Learn.UQ staff guide.

Course template guide (recommended)

This Course template guide is linked at the top of the course and is for staff only, so it must remain hidden from students.

Course Profile (technically required)

The Course Profile link is technically required and must be the first item visible eto students in the Course Content section. It links to JAC for students to view all the information on your course profile. For more information, refer to the Course Profile guide.

Getting started with Blackboard for Students (recommended)

A weblink to the Getting started with Learn.UQ student guide to help student learn how to navigate their Blackboard course site.

Microsoft Teams (optional)

A Microsoft Teams hidden link is provided with the template. If your course is using Microsoft Teams, make the link visible to students.

Ed Discussion (optional)

If you are using the Ed Discussion tool, add the link under the Microsoft Teams link in the course content area. For step-by-step instructions, refer to the Link Ed Discussion Board to your Learn.UQ course guide.

It is recommended that you also post to Blackboard Discussions directing students to Ed Discussion. For step-by-step instructions, refer to the Create discussions guide and enter “We are using Ed Discussion located within Course Content” in the Title textbox and “Please post on the Ed Discussion board located within Course Content” in the Message textbox.
