Arranging course content on a document (Ultra)

Why would I arrange my course content on a document?

Documents can be created with different block types that can be structured into rows and columns. This improves design flexibility and control over visual elements, helping you create engaging course material tailored to a learners' needs.

Adding multiple blocks to a document

Open the desired document. If you haven't created your document, refer to the Create a document guide.
Click on the Edit content button.
Note: If you have just created your document you will already be in the Edit content mode.
Add your first block to the document from the following list:
Click on the Add new content at row button.
Repeat step 3 until you have added all the required blocks.

Continue adding blocks as required.
Click on the Save button to finish editing the document.

Resizing blocks on a document

A document allows blocks to be resized, you might resize a content block with text to allow room for an accompanying content block containing an image so they sit side by side on the page.

Open the desired document. If you haven't created your document, refer to the Create a document guide.
Click on the Edit content button.
Note: If you have just created your document you will already be in the Edit content mode.
Mouse over the block, click on either the left or right re-sizing handle and hold to adjust the size of the block.
The block can be resized to fit within any of the four distinct columns of equal size or to occupy two or three of the columns.
Release your mouse click once the desired block size is achieved.
Adjust other blocks as required.
Click on the Save button to finish editing the document.

Moving blocks on a document

Open the desired document. If you haven't created your document, refer to the Create a document guide.
Click on the Edit content button.
Note: If you have just created your document you will already be in the Edit content mode.
Mouse over a block, click on the Move (6 dots) button and hold to move the block into the desired location.
You can move blocks next to other blocks as long as they fit within the 4 columns.
Tip: Rely on the light purple shadow that appears when you are moving the block to show you where it will land when you release the mouse.
Release your mouse click once the desired block location achieved.
Adjust other blocks as required.
Click on the Save button to finish editing the document.
