Copy course content (Ultra)

Why would I copy course content?

Course content can be copied both from within your course or from another course. This can be used to save time on creating content multiple times within or across courses.

Can I copy content from a previous course iteration?

To copy content from a previous course iteration you will need to be enrolled in that course as an Instructor or Teaching Assistant.

If you need access to a previous course offering, simply contact the Course Coordinator listed on the Course Profile and request that they enrol you in the course. If they are no longer contactable, alternatively obtain approval from your Head of School and forward the approval email advising access can be granted to help@elearning.uq.edu.au.

Copy course content from within your course

Navigate to desired location where you would like to copy your content to.
Click on the Add new content (+) sign.
Select Copy Content from the drop-down list.
Click on the Search by course name or ID textbox, enter your course code. e.g. ARCH3130.
Click on your current course (Semester and Year).
Click on the desired folder.
Note: The Content folder is generally where you will be copying content from.
Continue to navigate through the course until you find the content to copy.
Check the checkbox next to the content to copy.
Tip: You can select additional content by checking the checkboxes next to additonal content.
Click on the Start Copy button.
A copying content message will appear and will change to complete once the copy has finished.
The copied content will appear in the location you selected.

Copy course content from another course

Note: In order to copy content from another course you will first need to ensure you are enrolled in that course as either an Instructor or Teaching Assistant.

Navigate to desired location where you would like to copy your content to.
Click on the Add new content (+) sign.
Select Copy Content from the drop-down list.
Click on the Search by course name or ID textbox, enter the course code for the course you want to copy content from. e.g. ARCH3130.
Click on the version of the course you want to copy content from e.g. a previous Semester.
Click on the desired folder.
Note: The Content folder is generally where you will be copying content from in an Ultra course. For original courses you are likely to copy content from Learning Resources
Continue to navigate through the course until you find the content to copy.
Check the checkbox next to the content to copy.
Tip: You can select additional content by checking the checkboxes next to additonal content.
Click on the Start Copy button.
A copying content message will appear and will change to complete once the copy has finished.
The copied content will appear in the location you selected.

What content can be copied from another course
