A Grading Schema displays a grade such as (1–7), (F, P, C, D, HD), (P, N) or (A–E) based on percentage ranges. For example, if a student scores 88% in a particular schema, a 7 would be displayed. Blackboard already includes the Grade Scheme A+ to E-
Note: Schools can request that their grading schema is added to the Blackboard template. i.e. The grading schema would be already set up in all courses and an option available for the primary or secondary display in Grade Centre columns. Refer to the Request a School Grading Schema instructions at the end of this page.

Using a Grade Schema
Combined grade / Final result column
- When creating a column in Grade Centre, any Grading Schemas you have created will appear as options for both the Primary Display and Secondary Display dropdown lists.
- If you select Percentage as the primary display and UQ Grade Schema as a secondary display, when you enter the final percentage in the column, the UQ grade will automatically be displayed as well.
Note: The Primary Display result will be visible to students, however the Secondary Display result will not. For example, the overall percentages below (0-100%) would be shown to students, but the UQ grades (1-7) would not be visible.
Refer to Create Column guide for information on using Grading Schemas.
