Overview

You can override a student test mark in Grade Centre using one of the following options:

  • Override the column mark.
  • Use the Manual Override tab (Which has the advantage of allowing you to enter an explanation to the student and instructor notes).

Note: Future attempts are also overridden, so if they re-attempt the test the mark does not change and the Needs grading icon is not displayed.

Access the Grade Centre

  1. From the Control Panel select Grade Centre > Full Grade Centre.

Override the column mark

  1. Click on the required student’s mark.
  2. Enter the required mark.
  3. Press the Enter key on your keyboard.

Manual Override

  1. Hover over the required student’s mark.
  2. Click on the arrow button.
  3. Select View Grade Details from the drop down list.

  1. Click on the Manual Override tab.
  2. Enter the new mark in the Override Grade textbox.
  3. Optionally, enter an explanation to the student in the Feedback to Users text editor.
  4. Optionally, enter notes for teaching staff in the Grading Notes text editor.

Note: Students cannot view Grading Notes.

  1. Click on the Save button.

Revert

You can revert a manually overridden mark to the original mark.

  1. Click on the Revert button.
  2. Click on the OK button.

Identifying overridden marks

  1. Overridden marks will be displayed with a  yellow triangle icon.
