4. Getting Started
The following commonly asked questions will be answered in this section:
- How do I order a course?
- How do I enrol staff and students in a course?
- How do I make my course available to students?
- How do I edit my course?
Order SI-net courses
SI-net courses need to be ordered every semester, as each cohort has a separate course. Once ordered, courses can be accessed from https://learn.uq.edu.au.
For more information, refer to the Order SI-net Courses guide.
Enrol Staff and Students
Students are enrolled automatically into your Learn.UQ course based on enrolments from SI-net (UQ’s enrolment system). Enrolments may take 2-3 three days to transfer from SI-net to your Learn.UQ course.
For more information, refer to the Enrol Teaching and Administrative Staff guide.
Make your course available and turn on Edit Mode
Blackboard course sites are, by default, unavailable to enrolled students when initially created. Students are enrolled automatically into course sites, but the course site must still be made available by the Instructor prior to students being able to access it. Course sites (with at least a welcome message) should be made available to students as early as possible, and at least one week prior to the first teaching activity.
For more information, refer to the Minimum Presence in Blackboard policy, Make a Course Available guide and Turn on Edit Mode guide.
