15. Text Editor

Add a file link using the text editor

Insert an image using the text editor

Tasks to complete

Add a file link using the text editor

  1. From the Course Menu, select Learning Resources.
  2. Click on the Week 3 - Saturn folder to open it.
  3. Hover over Build Content and select Item from the drop-down list.
  4. Enter "An Introduction to Saturn"​ in the Name textbox. 
  5. Click on the insert button button in the text editor.
  6. Right-click on this Saturn 2.pdf link and select Save Link As... from the drop-down list to save the file to your computer.
  7. Click on the Browse My Computer button.
  8. Browse your computer and select the Saturn 2.pdf file you just downloaded.
  9. Enter "Required reading on Saturn" in the Alt Text textbox.
  10. For Open in new window, select Yes.

Insert a web link using the text editor

    1. Enter "Visit the NASA Wesbite to learn more about Saturn"​ in the Text textbox below the file link.
    2. Click and drag to highlight the "NASA Website" text.
    3. Click on the Insert/ Edit Image button insert button in the text editor.
    4. Enter "https://www.nasa.gov/saturn" in the Link Path textbox.
    5. For Target, select Open in New Window (_blank) from the drop-down list.
    6. Enter "Saturn - NASA website" in the Title textbox.
    7. Click on the Insert button.

    Insert an image using the text editor 

    1. Right-click on this Saturn.jpg link and select Save Link As... from the drop-down list to save the file to your computer.

    1. Click on the Plus button (if you do not see it, click on the 3 dots button) in the text editor.
    2. Select Insert Local Files.
    3. Click on the Browse My Computer button.
    4. Browse your computer and select the Saturn.jpg file you just downloaded.
    5. Right-click on the image and select Image from the menu.
    6. Type "Saturn" in the Alternative text textbox.
    7. Enter 600 in the Width textbox.
    8. Click on the Save button.
    9. For Permit Users to View this Content, select Yes.
    10. Click on the Submit button.
