Ultra Focus – Progress tracking
The Progress Tracking tool coming in Blackboard Ultra helps students track the content or activities they have accessed. Students can manually check-off resources as complete, supporting self-directed learning. Course coordinators can easily monitor student engagement with individual course resources (Echo360, 3m 17s).

Can students easily locate assessments on your course site?
To make your assessment and related resources easy to locate, it is recommended to create a separate folder for each individual assessment within the Assessment area. Within each folder, the first item should be the submission link, followed by the relevant student instructions.
Respect at UQ training module
Students commencing at UQ in Semester 1, 2025 will be required to complete the mandatory ‘Respect at UQ’ training module by 5pm on Sunday 16 March 2025. Please be aware that students who have not completed the module by this time will have their Blackboard access removed until they complete the module, during which time you will be unable to mark any assessment work submitted by affected students within your course.
Setting up groups for learning, assessment and peer evaluation
The Groups tool in Blackboard allows you to facilitate group tasks and assessments. Allocate+ groups are automatically created in Blackboard at the start of semester. For peer evaluation, use Buddycheck to collect and moderate student responses on the contribution of their group members.

Student understanding of assessment types
The Types of Assignments module (within the Digital Essentials series) introduces students to different assignment types, resources and tools. It is designed to be embedded into courses so students can find the information they need, when they need it.
Student engagement with lecture recordings
Echo360, our platform for video capture and storage, provides analytical data to help you monitor student engagement with lecture recordings. Staff can access the number of views on individual recordings including course, student, and engagement data.
