Microsoft documents for collaboration

Now that students have access to Microsoft 365, staff can share files with students for collaborative co-editing, regardless of whether a Teams site is used in the course.

Check which students are engaging with Learn.UQ and UQ Extend content 

Course Insights, UQ's own course-level learning analytics dashboard, is available to all course coordinators via Learn.UQ (Blackboard). To view Learn.UQ and UQ Extend student engagement data and contact disengaged students prior to the census date, review the Engagement section of Course Insights.

Request recordings of additional teaching activities 

You can now request automatic recordings for all teaching activities scheduled in the timetable, including seminars, tutorials and workshops. Lectures in all centrally controlled teaching spaces with 20 seats or more are automatically recorded and are made available in Echo360 via the Lecture Recordings link in the associated Learn.UQ course. You are not required to submit a request to have lectures recorded in this instance.

Buddycheck for group peer assessment

Buddycheck – UQ’s group peer assessment tool – allows students to evaluate the individual contributions of group members during a project. It can formatively identify struggling groups early and trigger appropriate support strategies for summative assessment.

Call for papers — Indigenising Curriculum Handbook 

UQ staff are invited to contribute to the Handbook on Indigenising Curriculum at The University of Queensland. The edited collection will explore the pedagogies, processes, benefits and difficulties of Indigenising the curriculum at UQ. 

Chapters must be submitted by 20 September 2024.

Record reason for mark changes  

Our video explains how to edit and record the reason for changing a student’s mark in the Learn.UQ (Blackboard) Grade Centre (YouTube, 1m 14s).  

You can view the comments in the Grade History section and check for errors before transferring your grades to SI-net at the end of the semester.
