AI bots to help design your assessment?
We are fascinated with the future possibilities for using AI in our work. ITaLI staff, Dr Luke Zaphir and Tim Magoffin have been exploring AI bots to help with assessment design. While these tools aren’t perfect you can use these early versions to consider your assessments' vulnerability to AI or improve your rubrics. As with all GenAI technologies, avoid uploading sensitive materials, sense-check the reasoning and fact check the content. These tools are continually improving and are intended to help you improve your assessment tasks. We would love to hear your feedback!

Practice online digital exams
For courses with end-of-semester digital exams, Course Coordinators are encouraged to offer students a practice exam. This helps students get comfortable with the exam process and test their devices. Course Coordinators can create a course-specific practice exam or guide students to self-enrol using the Learn.UQ Practice Exam site and Inspera Preparation Test.
Have you checked your Learn.UQ or Inspera exam as a student?
It is important to check your exam 'as a student' to test if it works as expected and to ensure all questions are accessible. View the Learn.UQ Exams and Inspera Peer Review and Testing guides.
Course Insights - investigate student assessment results
Course Insights is UQ's own course-level learning analytics dashboard and is available to all teaching staff in a course via Learn.UQ. The Assessment section provides staff with an overview of student assessment results, as well as an in-depth analysis of each individual assessment task.
Are you keeping your grades secure?
The following video offers a range of practical strategies for improving grade security.
Writing for the Web - Digital Essentials module
The Writing for the web module (part of the Digital Essentials series) teaches students how to write for online audiences and explores different ways to produce online content. It is designed to be embedded into courses so students can find the information they need, when they need it.
2024 Global Students as Partners Roundtable
Students as Partners (SaP) fosters collaboration between students and staff to achieve common educational objectives. This year’s Global SaP Roundtable was a great success with 467 participants from 23 countries participating across all the sessions.
