Migration from Kaltura to Echo
Following the UQ Technology Master Plan decision to retire Kaltura, starting 3 June 2024, Kaltura will be placed in read-only mode. To embed new videos and for student video submissions, you will need to use the EchoVideo Deep Linking tool.
Throughout June and July 2024, Kaltura videos will automatically be migrated to Echo360 and re-embedded in your Learn.UQ courses. No action is required from the video owners and no downtime is expected. You will be able to access your old videos from your Echo account.
The Jac Course Instance system is now live!
The Jac Course Instance is replacing ECPS for Course Profiles, starting from Semester 2, 2024. In-person and online training, as well as drop-in sessions, have commenced for the Jac Course Instance system. Spots are limited, so secure your spot early.
SECaTs open next week!
The Student Evaluations of Course and Teacher (SECaTs) will open from 13 May–31 May (11:59 pm AEST). To maximise your response rate this semester, please consider incorporating ITaLI's SECaT promotional slide into your teaching and dedicating a few minutes in class to show the promotional videos for students, followed by an opportunity to complete the survey. Students can access their surveys through the link sent to their emails, or via eval.uq.edu.au/eus.onlinesurveyportal/.

Practice online exams
For courses that require online exams at the end of the semester, Course Coordinators are urged to offer students a practice exam. This enables students to assess their device setup and become acquainted with the exam process. Course Coordinators have the option to design a course-specific practice exam or direct students to self-enrol using the Learn.UQ Practice Exam site (UQ staff login required) and Inspera Practice Exam.
Check your exam as a student
It is important to check your exam 'as a student' to test if it works as expected and to ensure all questions are accessible. View the Learn.UQ Exams and Inspera Peer Review and Testing guides.
Investigate student assessment results
Course Insights is UQ's own course-level learning analytics dashboard and is available to all Course Coordinators via Learn.UQ. The Assessment section provides staff with an overview of student assessment results, as well as an in-depth analysis of each individual assessment task.
