UQ Extend to Learn.UQ (Blackboard) conversion process (Ultra)
Overview
This guide outlines the recommended process for converting a UQ Extend course to Learn.UQ (Blackboard).
Note: There is no automated import path between these two platforms, therefore some parts of the conversion require a manual rebuild.
Tip: This guide uses the terms 'conversion' and 'rebuild' deliberately. Content is reconstructed in Learn.UQ (Blackboard) using the UQ Extend course as a reference source, not transferred via a file export/import.
5. Conversion phase 2 – Rebuild the structure
Rebuild the course content in Learn.UQ (Blackboard), working module by module. For more information on the differences between platforms, refer to the Platform feature comparison section of this guide.
Create Learning Modules in Learn.UQ (Blackboard), which correspond to the UQ Extend Sections. Apply the same names and order.
Create a folder in Learn.UQ (Blackboard) within each Learning Module to correspond to the UQ Extend Sub-sections, depending on your course structure. For more information, refer to the Course structure page.
For each UQ Extend Unit, decide how to split the components within the page into Learn.UQ (Blackboard) items.
Note: It is recommended that items are added within a document and that each item is added to a separate content block. Unit = Document (each contains blocks of content).
Create a document in Learn.UQ (Blackboard) within each folder to contain the content within each unit.
