Add a Knowledge check block to a document (Ultra)

Why would I use a Knowledge check block on a document?

A knowledge check block can be used as a simple way to ensure students have understood the content in the document. It allows for the insertion of a multiple choice or multiple answer question to test understanding and provide an instructor with statistics on the student interactions with the knowledge check.

What happens if the students get the answer incorrect?

If students get the answer incorrect, they will be shown a Try again button to retry the knowledge check question. If they get the answer correct, they will be shown a Reset button to optionally test their knowledge again.

Add a knowledge check block

Open the desired document. If you haven't created your document, refer to the Create a document guide.
Click on the Edit content button.
Note: If you have just created your document you will already be in the Edit content mode.
Click on the Knowledge check button from Select a type of content to add a block menu.
Click on the Question Text textbox, enter [meaningful question text]. e.g. What services does the UQ library provide to support students in their academic journey?
Click on the first Enter Option Text textbox, enter [meaningful answer option]. e.g. Study and learning support.
Click on the Add Option button to add additonal Option textboxes.
Repeat Step 5 & 6 until all desired answer options have been entered.
Click on the Delete Option 1/2/3/4 etc (trash can) button to delete one of the Option textboxes.
Click on the Drag to reorder button to reorder the Option textboxes.
Check the Option 1/2/3/4 etc. checkboxes next to the correct answer/s.
Note: If only one Option checkbox is checked the question will be a multiple choice, if more than one Option checkbox is checked the question will be a multiple answer.
Click on the Correct Answer Feedback textbox, enter [meaningful correct answer feedback]. e.g. That's correct!
Click on the Incorrect Answer Feedback textbox, enter [meaningful incorrect answer feedback]. e.g. That's incorrect, please try again after reviewing the Week 1 additional content to find information about the UQ Library.
Click on the Save button.
Click off the Knowledge check block to add additional blocks or click on the Save button to finish editing the document.

Edit a knowledge check block

Delete a knowledge check block

Open the desired document.
Click on the Edit content button.
Mouse over the Knowledge check block and click on the Delete block button.
Warning: Clicking on the Delete block will automatically delete the Knowledge check block without a confirmation message.
Click on the Save button to confirm changes to document.

Tip: If you accidently delete the wrong content, click on the Cancel button straight away and click the Close button pop-up to close without saving.
