UQ Extend to Learn.UQ (Blackboard) conversion process (Ultra)

Overview

This guide outlines the recommended process for converting a UQ Extend course to Learn.UQ (Blackboard).

Note: There is no automated import path between these two platforms, therefore some parts of the conversion require a manual rebuild. 

Tip: This guide uses the terms 'conversion' and 'rebuild' deliberately. Content is reconstructed in Learn.UQ (Blackboard) using the UQ Extend course as a reference source, not transferred via a file export/import.

Access to Echo360 collections

To grant access to your Echo360 collection, refer the Share your Echo360 video guide.

For guidance on adding staff to collections as Managers, refer to Managing Collection Member Rights and Permissions page. 

Access to H5P content

To grant access to the H5P items, refer to the H5P naming and sharing guidelines guide.

For H5P guidance on sharing ownership of your H5P folder, refer to the H5P Share and embed content guide. 

Warning: H5P content ownership is difficult to manage if staff leave. The recommendation is to add Learning Designers and multiple other staff as Collaborators. In the worst case, content can be cloned and re-embedded.   

Course ownership and assets information

Create a hidden document within the Course Resources folder, explaining where resources are located and who has been given access to edit this content. For more information, refer to the Content Visibility guide. 

Note:  The H5P Assets and Echo360 Collection sections are only needed if you created them as part of the module migration.  

Tip: If there is more than one course owner, please create additional sub-headings. For example, “Contact 1” and “Contact 2” etc.

Title: “KEEP HIDDEN – UQ Extend Conversion course ownership and assets”. 

This course’s UQ Extend course has been converted to Learn.UQ (Blackboard). This hidden document contains course ownership and asset information which we recommend you keep up to date.

H5P Assets

To do so, open the folder in H5P, copy the URL from your browser and paste the link here. For more information, refer to the H5P naming and sharing guidelines page.

Echo360 Collection 

The content owner(s) has been given ownership of all of the echo360 content created in this course, so they can make changes if needed. 

Provide link to Echo360 Collection

To do so, open the Echo360 collection, click on the Membership tab, scroll to the bottom of the page, and click on the Enable link button to generate an auto-enrol link. Then, click on the Copy button. For more information, refer to the Share your Echo360 video page.
