UQ Extend to Learn.UQ (Blackboard) conversion process (Ultra)

Overview

This guide outlines the recommended process for converting a UQ Extend course to Learn.UQ (Blackboard).

Note: There is no automated import path between these two platforms, therefore some parts of the conversion require a manual rebuild. 

Tip: This guide uses the terms 'conversion' and 'rebuild' deliberately. Content is reconstructed in Learn.UQ (Blackboard) using the UQ Extend course as a reference source, not transferred via a file export/import.

Add content within the documents

Now that the course structure has been recreated in Learn.UQ (Blackboard), you will need to add content blocks to each document you created to convert the UQ Extend content to Learn.UQ (Blackboard).

Tip: When copying and pasting text from UQ Extend into Learn.UQ (Blackboard), use Control + Shift + V to paste the text without formatting into Learn.UQ and then apply the correct heading style.

Access H5P content

Request access to H5P original content (i.e. so if the original H5P content items are updated, this will be reflected in the Learn.UQ course) and embed the H5P Object in your Learn.UQ course.

Any existing H5P content can be reusued if you are unable to gain access to the original. For more information, refer to the Reuse content guide by H5P.   

Release conditions 

If you had specific release dates on content items in UQ Extend, you can replicate this in your Learn.UQ (Blackboard) course by using release conditions.
