Overview

This guide outlines the recommended process for converting a UQ Extend course to Learn.UQ (Blackboard).

Note: There is no automated import path between these two platforms, therefore some parts of the conversion require a manual rebuild.

Tip: This guide uses the terms 'conversion' and 'rebuild' deliberately. Content is reconstructed in Learn.UQ (Blackboard) using the UQ Extend course as a reference source, not transferred via a file export/import.

7. Conversion phase 4 – Verify & validate

  1. Use Blackboard Ally to ensure course content is accessible.
  2. Preview the course as a student using the Student Preview tool to confirm all items are visible and working as expected:
    • Test all embedded H5P content is working as expected.
    • Check all embedded YouTube/Echo360 videos to confirm media loads correctly and captions/transcripts are present.
    • Check all Blackboard Tests and complete test as a student
    • Check all content such as images/text are appearing correctly.
    • Test all web-links and course links to confirm links are working correctly.
  3. Cross-check the content inventory spreadsheet (from Phase 1 – Scope and sort) against the completed Learn.UQ (Blackboard) course to confirm every unit is accounted for.
  4. Obtain final sign-off from Course Coordinator.
  5. Set any required course availability dates in the course.
  6. If the course is not yet available, make the content availably to students.
  7. If the course is already available but the content is hidden from students, edit the content visibility to make it visible to students.
