Before setting up your course's Microsoft Bookings service, you might consider Adding your teaching staff member, including yourself, to the booking page. Five major settings are required in setting up a Microsoft Bookings service: Basic details, Availability options, Assign staff, Customised fields, and Notifications.

Note 1: Availability update delay

The booking service has a delay of approximately 4–5 minutes when updating availability. While double bookings will not occur, students might see a time slot marked as available but be unable to book it if another user has secured it shortly before their attempt.

Note 2: Student UQ Email address

Please ensure students are advised to use their UQ student email address when making bookings. Acceptable email formats include:

  • s1234567@student.uq.edu.au
  • preferredfirst.perferredlast@student.uq.edu.au

A tip for Course Coordinators to remind students of the correct email formats is provided in the Customised Fields setting.

Note 3: Please do not change the course name in the booking page

The course name on the booking page is standardised and aligned with the course name in Blackboard. As the naming in Blackboard remains unchanged, it is important that the booking page name is not altered to ensure consistency across systems.
