After you have configured the required service on your booking page, you can test the service link to experience the booking process from a student’s perspective.

  1. Access your course's Microsoft Bookings page from the UQ Bookings app.
  2. Click on the Services option from the settings list.
  3. Select the service you want to test.
  4. Click on the service link. The booking for the service will open in a new window.

  1. Check that the following details are displayed correctly:

  • Service name
  • Duration
  • Service description

  1. Select your own name when making a test booking. This allows you to:

  • confirm that your availability is correctly reflected for the service, and
  • receive booking notifications in your mailbox and Outlook calendar as a teaching staff member and as a student.

  1. Check if your availability is correctly reflected for the service.
  2. Select one time slot for testing.

  1. Fill in the Custom fields questions
  2. Click on the Book button.

  1. This confirmation screen will be displayed. Check if all the required information is included for students after they have completed a booking.

  1. Check your mailbox. You should receive two notifications:
  • The New booking is for the staff
  • The Confirmed is for the student

  1. Email notification for staff:

  1. Confirmation email for the student with booking details:

The following information will also be displayed:

  • The text you added in the Add additional information in the Email confirmation setting.
  • The answers students provided to your Custom questions when they completed their booking.

  1. Check your Outlook calendar. You should receive the invite from a student's perspective.

  1. Go back to the service page to make any required adjustments.
