Create Problem

Note: For complex mathematical inputs, click on the Problem button, selected the Advanced tab then select Math Expression Input.

  1. In your unit, click on the Problem button.

  1. Click on Numerical Input.

  1. Click on Edit.

  1. Delete the first line of text.

  1. Replace the text between the greater-than and lesser-than signs with your own question e.g. >> What is the value of pi to 2 decimal places?<<
  2. Optionally, after the double vertical bar, enter a tip or note to the question.

Note: The tip or note must be entered between the double vertical bar and lesser-than signs.

  1. Enter your answer by replacing the 100 +-5 text with your own answer. e.g. = 3.14

Note: The answer must be added after the equal sign.

    1. Optionally, you can add a ranged answer by adding +- and a number or percentage after the answer. For example:
    • +- 0.1 means the answer can be correct for 0.1 above or below the answer.

    • +- 2% means the answer can be correct for 2% above or below the answer.

    1. Alternatively, you can provide a series of answers so students can enter one of multiple different answers and be correct e.g. = [3.14, 3.15]

    Note: The answer ranges must be entered after the equal sign and the different answer options must be between square brackets.

    Warning: You cannot combine ranged answers and series of answers into an answer.

    Settings

    1. Click on Settings.

    1. Enter the question in the Display Name textbox.
    2. Ensure the textbox for Maximum Attempts is blank.

    1. Select Attempted from the Show Answer drop-down menu.

    1. Select True from the Show Reset Button drop-down menu.
    2. Click on the Save button.

    Delete

    1. To delete the component, click on the bin icon.
