4. Record a video
Tasks to complete
PowerPoint Preparation
- Right-click on the link then select Save Link As... to download the Desktop recording participants slides to your computer.
- Open the PowerPoint slides.
Recording
- Start the slide show in the PowerPoint.
- Optionally, if working with one screen, you might need to use Alt + Tab (on Windows) or Command + Tab (on Mac).
- In Echo360 click on the Create button.
- Select New Browser Capture from the drop-down list.
- Allow access to your web camera.
- In the Title text box type Your name + desktop recording workshop.
- In the Screen section click on the Add Screen button.
- In the Window tab select your PowerPoint presentation.
- Click on the REC button.
Note: A countdown timer will appear before recording.
Tip: Use the Pause Recording icon (two parallel lines) to pause between slides/delivering content to ensure the recording is efficient. It can also help you to avoid recording in one long take.
Note: If a mistake was made, there is no way to redo a certain part. You can either delete the recording by clicking on the Cancel recording icon (x icon) and start again or cut out that incorrect part via Editing.
- Answer the questions in each slide, pausing between each slide and then recording once ready to speak.
- When done, click on the Stop Recording icon (square icon).
- Your video will be stored in the Library section.
Note: The processing process will take longer depending on the internet connection, the length of the recording and its quality.
