Desktop Recording (Echo360) Online Workshop
2. Overview
Desktop Recording offers teaching staff an efficient way to record PowerPoint slides, screen recordings or a webcam. The reason for doing so is to move content online to free up face-to-face time for active learning activities, turn it into an instructional video or create a lecture to be uploaded if the original lecture time falls on a public holiday. Another benefit is that recordings can be uploaded to your course site.
Echo360 allows you to create a
- browser capture - record your screen or an app. No need to download any applications
- software capture - offers better editing options. You will need to download Universal Capture.
This workshop covers browse capture, a more user-friendly and easier way of desktop recordings.
The steps to create a desktop recording:
- Decide on what you want to record (PowerPoint slides, screen recording or webcam)
- Record it
- Edit (if required)
- Upload to Learn.UQ (Blackboard) course site.
