7. Annotating, highlighting, resizing marking panel, flagging, entering marks and private notes

Annotating, highlighting and resizing marking panel

  1. Select Rick from the student drop-down menu.
  2. Select Manually marked from the question type drop-down menu.
  3. Select 4 from the question number drop-down menu.
  4. Highlight text in Rick's answer.
  5. Click on the Annotate button.
  6. Enter This section needs more information in the Annotations textbox.
  7. Click on the Save button.
  8. Highlight additional text in Rick's answer.
  9. Click on the Highlight button.
  10. To edit the Annotation, click on the highlighted text.
  11. Click on the Edit icon.
  12. Click on the Save button.
  13. To delete the Annotation, click on the highlighted text.
  14. Click on the Delete icon.
  15. Resize the marking panel by hovering your mouse over the vertical bar between the answer and marking area.
  16. Click on the next question button/right arrow button to navigate to Question 5.

Flagging

This function is there to ensure the student's or students' submission is noted for further investigation.

  1. Click on the Flag icon.

Review mark scheme and enter marks

  1. In the Question 4 marking area, select 3 from the Marks drop-down menu.
  2. Click on the next question button/right arrow button to navigate to Question 5.
  3. In the Question 5 marking area, enter 0.5 in the Marks drop-down menu.
  4. Click outside the Marks down-down menu to save the result.
  5. Note the Mark scheme section as it highlights what marks a student should receive based on the scheme's wording   

Add Question private notes

Question private notes are notes that only markers can see and can be used, for example, clarifying if the student has answered the question correctly.

  1. Enter Half a mark due to lack of justification despite evidence and correct answer in the Question private notes textbox.
  2. Click on the Previous candidate/up arrow button to navigate to Morty.

Additional marking

  1. In Question 4, enter 1 in the Marks textbox.
  2. In Question 5, enter 1 in the Marks textbox.
  3. In Question 6, enter in the Marks textbox.
