4. Test settings for markers

Overview

A range of settings can be added to your test. Namely, enabling the Similarity Report and adding the candidates (fake students).

Tasks to complete

Exam Setup

  1. Enter the following link into your address bar: https://uqstafftrainingone.inspera.com/admin.
  2. Click on Deliver.
  3. Select Tests from the drop-down menu.
  4. Click on your provided test.

Add a Candidate (fake student)

Note: Normally, students are added via CSV import, but for the purposes of this workshop, you will add three Candidates (fake students) manually. These fake student credentials will allow you to complete the test as a student and provide content for you to practice marking.

Note: This method can be used to review the exam's functionality as part of the checking process.

  1. Next to 0 candidates, click on the Manage button.
  2. Click on the Add button.
  3. Select one-time users from the drop-down menu.
  4. Click on the plus icon three times.
  5. Enter Rick in the first Candidate ID textbox.
  6. Enter Morty in the second Candidate ID textbox.
  7. Enter Summer in the third Candidate ID textbox.
  8. Click on the Save button.
  9. Select Candidate Credentials from the drop-down arrow menu, located next to Individual submission.
  10. Take note or screenshot the Login Details for RickMorty and Summer as they will be required for entering the exam and completing it. Alternatively, keep the tab open for access to the Login Details.
  11. Return to the Candidates tab.
  12. Click on the Close button.

General settings

  1. Check the Enable auto submission (home test) checkbox.
  2. Select the Allow candidates to manually submit once within test window radio button.

Note: Do not check the Enable Student report checkbox as this will be done post-exam.

Security

  1. Check the Request Similarity report checkbox.

Note: It is recommended this checkbox is checked, even if there is no essay question, as that setting cannot be enabled after the test is completed.

Exam Day​

  1. Check the Enable Text to Speech reading aid checkbox.
  2. Check the Enable Spell Checker checkbox.
  3. In the Lost Connection Alert section, select the Custom message radio button.
  4. Enter the following message into the textbox: Local network issues. Keep working through your exam if possible. If the internet is not restored, or your exam does not have full functionality, DO NOT close your browser. Contact AskUs on (07) 3346 4312.

After test​

  1. Leave this area for now; it will be revisited following the marking section.

Grading workflow

  1. In the Setting marks and grades section, click on the Shared marking radio button.
  2. In the Confirmation of marks and grades section, click on the One grader can confirm radio buttons

Explanation of Grades

  1. Click on the Enable administration of Explanations checkbox.
  2. Click on the Next button or Design button.

Design

  1. Check the Table of contents checkbox.
  2. Uncheck the Hide question titles checkbox.
  3. Check the Enable Flagging checkbox.
  4. Check the Question maximum marks checkbox.
  5. Click on the Next button or Assessment settings button.

Assessment settings

  1. Select 1 to 7 from the Grading scale drop-down menu.
  2. Click on the Next button or Confirm button.

Confirm

  1. Click on the Activate test button.
