Automated machine-generated Echo360 lecture transcripts are not 100% accurate, therefore they may need to be edited.

Edit the transcript

  1. Select Learning Resources from the Course Menu
  2. Click on the Lecture_Recordings link.
  3. Click on the required video icon and select Edit Transcript from the dropdown list.

  1. Click on the Edit Transcript button.

  1. Select any line of text and edit it as required.

  1. Once you are finished editing a particular line of text, click outside of the textbox to save your edit.

  1. If required, use the undo and redo buttons to revert/restore your edits.

  1. When you are finished editing, click on the Save As New Version button.

  1. This creates a new version of the transcript complete with your edits which will be the version students see.

Apply the updated transcript as closed captions

Once you have updated the transcript, you can also apply these changes to the closed captions file.

  1. Click the Apply to CC button.

  1. Click on the Apply button to apply the transcript as closed captions for the video.

Download the edited transcript

You are able to download the edited transcript with timestamps from Echo360 as a vtt file. 

  1. Select Learning Resources from the Course Menu
  2. Click on the Lecture_Recordings link.
  3. Click on the required video icon and select Details from the dropdown list.

  1. Click on the down arrow for Transcripts and select Download Edited.

  1. The transcript file will then be downloaded as a .vtt file.
