Create Discussion Boards for Practical / Seminar / Tutorial groups (Original)

1. Click on the down arrow next to the chosen group (eg. Tutorial group 01).

2. Select Edit Group from the drop-down list.

3. Under Tool Availability, check the Discussion Board checkbox.​
   • Select the Allow and group members to create forums radio button.
   • Select the Do not allow student group members to create forums radio button (recommended).

4. Click on the Submit button.

Students will have access to their Tutorial/Seminar/Practical group Discussion Board from the Course Menu under Groups. This is separate from their access to course Discussion boards for the whole class.

1. From the Control Panel select Discussion Board
2. Click on the required group.

Note: A default forum will be included with the same title as the group name.

Tip: Staff can add themselves as members of the tutorial/seminar/practical groups they are teaching, so they have quick access to the relevant Discussion Boards via the Course Menu under Groups.
