Insert media (Ultra Student) - eLearning - University of Queensland

This guide describes how to insert media using the Learn.UQ text editor.

Insert EchoVideo media

EchoVideo content includes videos and audio, recording a video from a webcam or recording a screencast with optional video and audio.

Click on the Insert content button in the text editor.
Select Content Market from the drop-down list.

Select the EchoVideo Deep Linking Tool.

For instructions and tips on recording your videos, please refer to the Record video or audio through EchoVideo guide.

Click on the Upload Media link.
Note: Only complete this step if your video has not already been uploaded to your EchoVideo library.

Click on Select Files to Upload (or use one of the other options).

Navigate to and select the required video file.
Click on the Upload button.

Tip: For further information about how long files can take to upload, refer to the Upload speeds guide.

Click on the Close button.
Click on the Launch Media Picker link.

Select the required video and click on the Next button.

Click on the Embed button.

Optionally, update the Display Name textbox.
Click on the Save button.

The video will appear in the textbox. Click on the Submit button.

Insert a YouTube video

To insert YouTube videos on campus, you need to be signed into the UQ Internet Management System.

Click on the Insert Content button in the text editor.
Select YouTube video from the drop-down list.

Search for a video

Enter the keywords you want to search for into the Search textbox.
Click on the Search button.

The search results will be displayed. Click on the Select button to choose your desired video.

Add YouTube content to the course

Add the title and author of the video in the Alternative Text textbox.
Select the The content displays inline if the browser allows. If not allowed, the content displays as a link radio button.
Click on the Insert button.

Resize, preview and delete an embedded YouTube video

Click on the video to show the re-size handles (white boxes) in each corner. Drag the handles to resize the video.
Click on the Preview button to view the video in another browser tab.
Click on the Delete button (bin icon) to delete the image.

Insert a video from an external platform (other than YouTube)

Embed a video

Click on the Insert content button in the text editor.
Select Media from the drop-down list.
Copy/paste a video link into the Media URL box.
Add the title and author of the video in the Alternative Text textbox.
Click on the Insert button.

Resize, preview and delete an embedded video

Click on the Preview button to view the video in another browser tab.
Click on the Delete button (bin icon) to delete the image.
