6. Create an MCQ question

Create an MCQ question
- Click on Section 1 to edit the name.
- Enter the section name "Australian culture".
- Click on the Create new button.
- Select Multiple choice under the Automatically marked questions list.
- Enter "Australian national language" into the New Question textbox on the top left.
- Delete Replace with question text and replace with this question "What is the national language of Australia?"
- Click on the interaction area (Select one alternative).
The prompt "Select one alternative" is added by default. If you would like to change this text, you can click on the Prompt button to edit it. - Enter the following alternatives:
- Australian
- American
- English
- Scottish
Note: By default, the first option is selected (with the green radio button) as the correct answer. Select the English radio button.
- Click on the Options button.
- Normally, you would not need to enter the lower or the upper mark limit.
- The randomisation has been selected by default.
- Make sure to untick this box when you have All or None of the above or Both A and B, etc. as an alternative. Tip: some courses use None of the mentioned option.
- Click on the Close button.
- Click on the Marks button. By default,
- Marks per correct answer is 1, leave the option as 1.
- Marks per wrong answer is 0
- Marks for unanswered is 0
- Marks for all correct is blank
- Minimum marks is blank
- Click on the Labels button on the right, enter "your name", "test name", "aus languages" "mcq" "easy" "comprehension" and click on the plus button.
Note: Labels are useful for the author (e.g. course coordinator) to find the questions for future use.
- Click on the Save button.
- Click on the Preview button. The preview will be opened in a new tab in your browser.
- Close the preview window, or navigate back to the original question tab.
- Click on the Close button.
