UQ ePortfolio Deployment
The University of Queensland is implementing Chalk and Wire as the enterprise ePortfolio solution. For further information refer to the ePortfolio tool page.
How can I implement ePortfolio in my course or program?
- Program Leads with an interest in discussing use of the ePortfolio in their programs should submit a Request to Meet to the eLearning Systems and Support team, completing the provided sub-headings in the email body.
- Please view the ePortfolio software features video (YouTube, 16m 24s) and read Implementation process overview.
The following diagram aims to provide a high-level key to the requirements.
UQ context
The UQ Student Strategy 2016-2020 White Paper invites the university to explore personalised learning and graduate employability, with specific focus on the expansion of work integrated learning opportunities and employability programs for students at UQ, which also includes global extension experiences and authentic assessments.
Across UQ, there are certain programs which currently include these activities, while other programs may like to increase their focus in these areas.
The ePortfolio solution has been selected explicitly to support the teaching and learning activities most commonly associated with learning that occurs outside the classroom, including iterative reflective activities, associating evidence to learning outcomes, review and validation by external supervisors, and personal curation of exemplar work into private, shared or professional electronic portfolios.
For historical information on this project refer to the selection and pilot webpages.
What is the difference between the Placement System and the ePortfolio System?
The Placement system project will deploy InPlace during 2017 / 2018. Uses of the placement system will be largely administrative, and will enable school administration to gather pre-requisites, identify and communicate with placement providers, allocate and monitor student placements, completion and submission of timesheets, and other business requirements around placement management.
The ePortfolio is related to management and assessment of learning activities while students are on placement rather than the administration of the placement itself.
Who is using ePortfolio in 2017 and 2018?
In Semester 1 2017, the focus was on faculties that had work integrated learning. The deployment in Semester 2 2017 and 2018 was opened up to all faculties and a variety of use cases. Schools involved include:
