UQ eLearning staff Helpdesk

Paul Dutton, Gary Smith, and Service Coordinator, Michael Luyten help academic staff with centrally supported elearning systems, troubleshooting problems and assisting with setting up their sites. As part of the eLearning team they also help test upgrades and review new services.

UQ eLearning Advisors

Ailsa, Nathan, Victor and Iliria provide professional development on Technology Enhanced Learning for staff providing a combination of face to face and online workshops covering centrally supported eLearning technologies. Professional Development on Technology Enhanced Learning is provided in collaboration with school and faculty educational designers who focus on local needs, and with the ITaLI team who focus on pedagogical support.

eLearning Systems and Support: Team management

In his role as the eLearning team Manager, Simon is responsible for the University's central eLearning systems and support services. Simon also chairs the eLearning Operational Forum (ELOF) which facilitates collaboration between the various support groups and the faculties. ELOF reports to the Technology Enhanced Learning Committee which reports to the Teaching and Learning Committee.

eLearning service enhancement: program management

Ms Elizabeth Wardrop is our eLearning Program Manager and can be contacted at: e.wardrop@its.uq.edu.au

Elizabeth's work is focussed on managing evaluations and implementations of new technology, including coordinating and delivering pilots, and integration into existing enterprise systems.  Elizabeth also manages Blackboard upgrades and maintenance, as well as general service delivery improvements.  Elizabeth works Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Learning Management System: administration and development

ITS staff Adam Murray and  Patrick Strong maintain the availability and stability of the core LMS systems which are duplicated across two datacentres. They plan, test and perform all the major upgrades that deliver most of UQ's new functionality and develop building blocks and add-ins that enhance the way it works. They investigate issues escalated from helpdesk, liaise with vendors. These system administrators are contactable through: help@learn.uq.edu.au
