Insert a Video using the Text Editor (Original)
Videos can also be uploaded anywhere there is Visual Textbox Editor (Announcements, Items, Discussion Board, Blogs, Journals, Wikis and Assignments).
Videos can also be uploaded to Echo360 and directly inserted into a Content Area (Learning Resources or Assessment) using the Tools Menu. Refer to the Insert a video into a Content Area guide.

Insert a video
- Create either:
- An announcement
- Content item
- Discussion Board
- Blog
- Journal
- Wiki
- An assignment
- Enter a name in the Name textbox.
- In the Text Editor, click on the Add Content button.
- From the list, select EchoVideo Deep Linking Tool.
Note: If this is your first time using this tool, you may have to set up your Echo connection to Blackboard. Use this Getting Started guide to help you.
- Select the desired video and click Next.
- Choose from the following Embed Options on the following page.
- 1 Size - for full-screen width, leave the size at 640 x 420 | For half-screen size, use 320 x 240.
- 2 Start at - if you want the students to start at a certain point in the video (not at the beginning) change the minutes and seconds.
- 3 Autoplay - toggle across if you want the video to start immediately. This will automatically disable the option to automute.
- Automute - toggle across if your students would prefer the control to turn on the sound.
Note: You can only embed one item at a time.
- Click Insert. A 'Success!' message will appear. You may close the LTI Launch Return tab.
- Return to the course site tab and refresh the window.
- Your now-embedded Echo content will be at the bottom. Move it to the desired position.
- Click on the Submit button.
Delete the video
- Select the video thumbnail and the table.
- Press the Delete key on your keyboard.
- Click on the Submit button.
