Ultra course conversion checklist
It is important to check the conversion of your convert Ultra course for completeness and accuracy using the below checklist. Also check the conversion Exceptions Report that was automatically generated when the course was copied to Ultra.
Note: You should have also received course specific conversion notes with the CRM email notifying you the course conversion had been completed.
Missing items
Check the content of your course against the copied version. For information on the location of resources in Ultra, refer to the Template guide.

Blackboard tests
Check test setting
Check all Test settings, including due dates. For instructions on editing Test setting, refer to the Edit a Test guide.
Check question formatting
Check the formatting of all test questions using the student preview tool. Refer to the Complete a Test as a Student guide.
Discontinued question types
Discontinued question types included in deployed tests were automatically removed when copied.
Jumbled Sentence
This questions type was added to Ultra in the June 2025 update. If your course was copied before this date your will need to recopy the relevant Blackboard test. refer to the Copy a test or question bank guide.
Note: Jumbled Sentence questions require students to select words or phrases from a menu to complete a sentence.
Opinion Scale/Likert
It is recommended these questions are replaced with a Multiple Choice question. Or alternatively for tests that consist of only this question type consider using a Microsoft Forms by Microsoft instead.
Ordering
It is recommended these questions are replaced with a Matching question where the numbered steps are the prompts.
Copying undeployed Tests and Pool
Only deployed Tests and associated pools were copied from the previous course. For instructions on copying additional tests and pools from Original course sites, refer to the Copy a test or question bank guide.
Turnitin assignments
The Due date and Feedback Release date for previously used submission links have been updated. This will ensure results are not released while marking is in progress. Refer to the Edit a Turnitin assignment guide.
Adaptive release
Items that use adaptive release should be reviewed and checked in student preview mode to ensure there are no issues with student access. Refer to Content Availability and Student Preview guides.
Blackboard rubrics
Check the formatting of Blackboard rubrics (not Turnitin), including the number of rows and descriptors. Refer to the Rubric management & setup guide.
Course links
All course links are removed in the copy process and will need to be replaced. Refer to the Create a weblink or course link guide.
Journal articles, PDFs and book chapters
It is the responsibility of UQ teaching staff to ensure that they have the rights and permissions needed to place content on Learn.UQ.
Course coordinators make copyright-protected learning materials (readings) available to UQ students via the Library’s course reading list system, Talis Aspire, which students access via the Course Reading List link in the Course Resources folder. Refer to the Reading lists and textbook guide by UQ Library.
