Non SI-net

A Non SI-net/Organisation course is a course used for the purposes of student support or administration improvement (e.g.induction, research, staff development, bridging courses).

This guide provides instruction on how to request a non Si-net UQ Extend course.

To request a non SI-net Learn.UQ (Blackboard) course refer to the Order Non SI-net Course/Organisation Courses guide.

Submit a request using the Learn.UQ Site Request form found on the Learn.UQ Institution page.

Requesting a New Site

Go to the Learn.UQ Site Request form.
Click on the New button.

Select required Faculty and Organisation Unit from the dropdown list.

Enter the name of the new site in the Title textbox.

Note: This will be prefixed by the required org code when created e.g HABS1240.

Enter a short description of the site and what is being requested/approved in the Description textbox.

Enter a short justification or need for the site, and why it is being requested/approved in the Purpose textbox.

Note: this information is required for Head of Work Unit approval.

Enter the UQ username(s) of any staff requiring full Admin access to the site being requested in the UQ Username text box under the Instructors heading.

Note: The staff member who makes the request is provided this access by default.

If you require students from a Blackboard course to have access this UQ Extend site, enter the course code(s) in the Enrolments/merged courses textbox.

Check the Yes checkbox.

Click on the SUBMIT button.

Requesting a site Copy

Go to the Learn.UQ Site Request form.
Click on the Copy button.

Enter the course code in the Site Code textbox OR enter the course title in the Site Name textbox of the site you require the content to be copied FROM.
Click on the SEARCH button.
Click on the button of the require site listed under Sites Found.

Edit the Course Title to reflect the name of the NEW site being created.

Enter a short description of the site and what is being requested/approved in the Description textbox.

Enter a short justification or need for the site, and why it is being requested/approved in the Purpose textbox.

Note: this information is required for Head of Work Unit approval

Check the Yes textbox.

Click on the SUBMIT button.

NOTE: if content is being copied into an existing UQ Extend site, the copy should be actioned from within the origin/Master site itself, not via this form. The form is to create a site and copy content in a single request.

Requesting a site Enrolment

Go to the Learn.UQ Site Request form.
Click on the Enrolment button.

Enter the course code in the Site Code textbox OR enter the course titlle in the Site Name text box of the UQ Extend site students are to be enrolled into.

Enter the course code(s) for the appropriate Blackboard courses students are to be enrolled FROM in the Enrolments/Merged Courses textbox.

Check the Yes box checkbox.

Click on the SUBMIT button.
