Turnitin Clarity Pilot
What is Turnitin Clarity?
Clarity is a Turnitin add-on that provides visibility into the student writing process. It helps students use AI tools ethically by applying course coordinator-defined guidelines. Clarity provides a centralised view of student writing data within Turnitin, supporting academic integrity review. It also offers timely, personalised formative feedback to help students develop critical thinking skills and improve the quality of their writing.
What is happening?
UQ is piloting Turnitin Clarity in authentic teaching and assessment contexts to evaluate its suitability for addressing a priority assessment tool gap: process-based long-form assessment integrity.
This pilot is a component of the Lead through Learning Project, AI Tools and Technologies Stream 1 - Assessment Platforms Pilots.
Expressions of Interest
Staff were invited to submit an Expression of Interest to participate in the pilot between 25 May and 5 June 2026.
Semester 2 2026
This pilot will be conducted during Semester 2, 2026, with involvement from all faculties.
Semester 1 2027
The results of the Semester 2 2026 pilot will inform whether the tool progresses to an extended pilot in Semester 1 2027 or is deployed UQ-wide.
