iThenticate 2.0 migration
What is happening?
iThenticate will be upgraded to iThenticate 2.0 on Tuesday 24 November 2026. UQ provides iThenticate to HDR students and staff to check the originality of research outputs, manuscripts, grant applications and theses before submission.
iThenticate 2.0 is the new version of the platform. It has a refreshed, easier to use interface and some new features for reviewing documents.
When is it happening?
The migration will take place on Tuesday 24 November 2026, starting at 00:00 AEST.
iThenticate will be unavailable for approximately 24 hours while the migration takes place. During this time you will not be able to log in, upload documents or view Similarity Reports.
This page will be updated once the migration is complete.
What do I need to do?
Before 24 November 2026
- Plan around the outage. If you have a deadline around 24 and 25 November, submit your documents and review your reports before the migration begins.
- Download any reports you need. Save copies of Similarity Reports you may need to refer to during the outage.
- Tidy up your account. Delete any documents or folders you no longer need.
After the migration
- Log in with UQ single sign-on. Once the migration is complete, log in to iThenticate 2.0 with your UQ username and password, as you do now.
- Use the UQ iThenticate link. Access iThenticate 2.0 from https://uq-ith.turnitin.com/.
- Check your folders and documents. Make sure your existing folders and documents have come across to your new account.
Note: Accounts that have not been used in the past two years and contain no documents will not be migrated. If you need access after the migration, contact help@elearning.uq.edu.au.
What is changing?
