What is the course copy adjustment tool?

The Course copy adjustment tool allows the user to request alterations to the default course that has been copied forward from a previous iteration e.g. A Semester 1, 2026 course that was copied into the Semester 1, 2027 course.

Why would I use the course copy adjustment tool?

The Course copy adjustment tool should be used for the following situations:

You require content to be copied from a different course (e.g. Semeter 1 course copied into Semester 2 offering)
You require courses to be merged together (e.g. Internal offering with an external offering)
You require a UQ Extend course site.
You require a blank course instead of a copied course

Note: You can complete combinations of the above options in a single request to streamline the process. I.e. You can complete a course merge and UQ Extend course site at the same time.

Requesting a course copy adjustment

Select Tools from the Base Navigation page.
Click on the Course Copy tool button.
Click on the Search textbox.
Enter the Course code and press Enter (on keyboard) e.g. AGRC1135
Note: If you do not know the course code you can use the Organisational Unit and Course Code drop down boxes to narrow your search.
Locate and select the course offering.
Click on the radio button next to the course you wish to have copied from the Select Source Offering list.
Details of the selected course offering will be displayed.
Note: A warning message will be displayed if you attempt to copy content from an Original course site into an Ultra course site.
Check the Copy content from selected offering checkbox.
Check the Copy instructor enrolments from selected offering checkbox if you want the staff enrolments copied.
Click on the Submit Adjustment button.
Check the details.
Note: If this is the first request for the Course copy it will be processed automatically, subsequent requests will require approval.
Click the Recreate & Copy button.
A Reason Required textbox will be shown if you are attempting to adjust a course that has been locked for editing or if the course has already previously been adjusted and a justification will be required.
Enter the reason for adjustment in the Reason Required textbox.
Click on the Submit Adjustment button again.
Check the details again.
Click the Recreate & Copy button.
You will receive a confirmation message.

Requesting a Course Merge only

Select Tools from the Base Navigation page.
Click on the Course Copy tool button.
Click on the Search textbox.
Enter the Course code and press Enter (on keyboard) e.g. ADPS3003
Note: If you do not know the course code you can use the Organisational Unit and Course Code drop down boxes to narrow your search.
Locate and select the course offering.
Click on Course Merge (Optional) to expand.
Click on the Search textbox.
Enter the Course code (to be merged) and press Enter (on keyboard) eg. ADPS7300
Select checkbox next to the required Course offering.
Tip: if you select the wrong course uncheck the checkbox.
Click on the Submit Adjustment button.
Check details.
Click the Confirm & Submit button.

Note: If this is the first requested adjustment you will receive the Confirmation message shown below in step 17.

Requesting a UQ Extend course

Select Tools from the Base Navigation page.
Click on the Course Copy tool button.
Click on the Search textbox.
Enter the Course code and press Enter (on keyboard) e.g. ADPS3003
Note: If you do not know the course code you can use the Organisational Unit and Course Code drop down boxes to narrow your search.
Locate and select the course offering.
Select the Request associated UQ Extend course checkbox.
Click on the Submit Adjustment button.
Check the details.
Click the Confirm & Submit button.

Note: If this is the first requested adjustment you will receive the Confirmation message shown below in step 14.
A Reason Required textbox will be shown if you are attempting to adjust a course that has been locked for editing or if the course has already previously been adjusted and a justification will be required.
Enter the reason for adjustment in the Reason Required textbox.
Click on the Submit Adjustment button again.
Check details.
Click the Confirm & Submit button.

Requesting a blank course site.

Select Tools from the Base Navigation page.
Click on the Course Copy tool button.
Click on the Search textbox.
Enter the Course code and press Enter (on keyboard) e.g. AGRC1135
Note: If you do not know the course code you can use the Organisational Unit and Course Code drop down boxes to narrow your search.
Locate and select the course offering.
Click on the Search for a different course button.
Select Other from the Organisational unit drop-down list.
Click on the Search textbox.
Enter Template and press Enter (on keyboard).
Locate and select the Blackboard Ultra Course (Template).
