Publish and Post student Gradescope assignment results (Ultra)
This guide will provide instructions on how to publish results so student can view their feedback. It also covers how to post results so students' marks are transferred to Gradebook.
Warning: When marks are posted to Gradebook from Gradescope they will automatically be posted for students to see.
Publish student results
Publishing results allows students to access their marks and feedback via the assignment submission link.
- Click on the Gradescope assignment link in your course.
- Select Review Grades from the menu.
Note: A Grades not published message is displayed in the top right corner of the screen.
- Click on the Graded? heading to sort the column to check for partially marked assignments with an X icon.
Note: Refer to the Review marked Gradescope assignments guide for instruction on finding unmarked questions.
- Click on the Publish Grades > button.
Warning: Students with partially marked assignments will not be able to view their marks and feedback.
Tip: Remember to inform students their marks and feedback are available for viewing by posting an announcement in your Learn.UQ course. Alternatively, you could use the Compose email to students button.
Viewed assignments
Assignments that have been viewed by students display an eye icon in the Viewed? column.
Post Grades
Posting grades transfers students' marks to Grade Centre.
Tip: Delay the posting of grades so students are encouraged to view their published marks, feedback and the assigment model solutions.
- Click on the Gradescope assignment link in your course.
- Select Review Grades from the menu.
- Click on the Graded? heading to sort the column to check for partially marked assignments with an X icon.

- Click on the Post Grades to Learn.UQ button.
- Student marks will be transferred to Grade Centre.
Warning: Results for students with partially marked assignments will not be transferred.
Warning: The Gradebook column will be automatically posted and be viewable to students. If your results are accidentally released before you were ready, refer to the Accidental release of Gradescope results guide.
Withhold a student result
You may need to withhold a student's result while investigating an academic integrity case.
To do this, remove the mark from one question so the assignment will not be published for the student to review and the mark will not be transferred to Grade Centre when you post results.
