TurningPoint Cloud (TP7) is now available and TurningPoint 5 is no longer supported by the company. Staff can continue to use TurningPoint 5 with clickers but not with a combination of clickers and mobile devices.

Using TurningPoint Cloud

Staff considering updating to TurningPoint Cloud (TP7) will need consider the following:

  • TurningPoint Cloud can be used with both clickers and mobile devices.
  • TurningPoint Cloud is compatible with Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 2016.
  • You will need to update your PowerPoint slides if the have the old MS version of charts within your document. You will be prompted on first use of TurningPoint Cloud to update your slides. It is recommended that you save a copy of the original PowerPoint slides. Once a PowerPoint has been updated for use with TurningPoint Cloud it cannot be used with TurningPoint 5.
  • Both TurningPoint 5 and TurningPoint Cloud are available on all lectern machines in centrally supported teaching spaces. i.e. You will need to select the correct version.
  • Receivers cannot be used with both TurningPoint 5 and TurningPoint Cloud. On first use of a receiver with TurningPoint Cloud you will be prompted to update the receiver software. Once receivers have been updated they cannot be used with TurningPoint 5.

Note: Using TurningPoint Cloud with physical clickers is supported at a school / faculty level.

How do I update to TurningPoint Cloud?

To use TurningPoint Cloud you will need to complete the following steps (this process typically takes 48 hours):

  1. Create a new Turning Technologies account using your UQ email address (old accounts will no longer work).
  1. Log a job with the eLearning Helpdesk to have your account added to the UQ site licence.
  • help@learn.uq.edu.au the subject of the email should be eLearning team - Add account to ResponseWare licence
  • Include your email address in the message.
  • Note:  This process typically takes 48 hours. The UQ eLearning Helpdesk needs to log a job with the TurningPoint Helpdesk based in the UK.
  1. Download the software

Using TurningPoint 5

Staff can continue to use TurningPoint 5 but need to consider the following:

  • TurningPoint 5 can only be used with clickers. Due to changes to TurningPoint Responseware licencing staff wishing to use a combination of clickers and mobile devices must use TurningPoint Cloud.
  • TurningPoint 5 is not compatible with Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 2016.
  • Both TurningPoint 5 and TurningPoint Cloud are available on all lectern machines in centrally supported teaching spaces. i.e. You will need to select the correct version.
  • Receivers cannot be used with both TurningPoint 5 and TurningPoint Cloud. On first use of a receiver with TurningPoint Cloud you will be prompted to update the receiver software. Once receivers have been updated they cannot be used with TurningPoint 5.
  • The current TurningPoint registration page in Learn.UQ (Blackboard) that is used to register physical clickers is still compatible with TurningPoint 5.

Is TurningPoint Cloud and TurningPoint 5 available on lectern machines?

Yes, both TurningPoint Cloud and TurningPoint 5 are installed on all lectern machines in central supported teaching spaces.

RRRF01 – NOT compatible, you will need to purchase a new receiver.

RRR02 – NOT compatible with TurningPoint Cloud. It may be compatible with TurningPoint 5, you will need to test your receiver. 

RRR03, RRR04 – compatible.
