Custom workshops
If you and your course teaching team would like a custom workshop on centrally supported eLearning tools, please email elearningadvisers@uq.edu.au. Custom workshops for faculties, schools and individual courses are available upon request. Sessions are delivered via Zoom or face-to-face.
Can students easily locate their assessments on your course site?
To make your assessment and its related information and resources easy to locate, it is recommended to create a separate folder for each individual assessment within the Assessment area. Within each folder, the first item should be the submission link, followed by the relevant student instructions.
Have all students accessed your course yet?
Course Insights, UQ’s own course-level learning analytics dashboard, is available to all Course Coordinators via Learn.UQ. It enables Course Coordinators to find out early in the semester whether all students have engaged in their course’s online materials. The Course Insights filter can identify students who have not accessed the course so staff can contact them to provide timely instruction or support.
Explore great teaching with the Open Course Scheme (OCS) this semester
The Open Course Scheme (OCS) provides an opportunity for staff to visit classrooms and observe great teaching occurring across UQ. This semester, there are more than 25 courses open for you to visit and observe.

Setting up groups for learning, assessment and peer evaluation
The Groups tool in Blackboard allows you to facilitate group tasks and assessments. Allocate+ groups are automatically created in Blackboard at the start of semester. For peer evaluation, use Buddycheck to collect and moderate student responses on the contribution of their group members.
Student understanding of assessment types
The Types of Assignments module (within the Digital Essentials series) introduces students to different assignment types, resources and tools. It is designed to be embedded into courses so students can find the information they need, when they need it.
