Any course with a listed Course Coordinator in the ECP will result in a SECaT course survey. Any teacher listed in a ‘Lecturer’ or ‘Associate Lecturer’ role in the ECP will result in a SECaT teaching survey.
Podcast – How can we make those difficult or unpopular topics accessible and fun learning for students?
In the latest episode of HigherEd Heroes, Al and Seb talk to Dr Suzanna Fay about having to teach a topic that is either difficult to grasp or unpopular with students. They discuss how to make these topics accessible and bring them alive in a fun way to help students learn.
Support for teachers
Student Advice Team support
The Student Advice Team aims to provide staff with the information and tools to help support students with their studies as well as areas including international student information, welfare, financial assistance and support with disability and inclusion. Learn how the team can support you and your students by watching the Accessible learning – Student Services Support recording from Ready to Teach Week.
Library resources for online exams
During open book online exams, students may experience challenges accessing the same resources at the same time because publishers limit the number of users for particular sources. When planning exams, the Library recommends to either use Open Educational Resources or urge your students to take notes/download important chapters and articles.

Allow external Zoom accounts to join a restricted Zoom meeting
Zoom meetings can be configured to restrict access to UQ accounts only by specifying external accounts (such as those of guest lecturers) and allowing them to join meetings restricted to UQ staff and students.
Lecture recordings - Are students watching?
Analytics on student engagement with lecture recordings are available. Staff now have access to information on views of individual recordings and a breakdown of individual student engagement with all available recordings.
Online assignment submission and marking
Online assignment submission and marking tools facilitate efficient and reliable assignment submission for students and marking for teaching staff. Assignments are immediately available to teaching staff for marking, and once marked, are quickly available to students for reflection.
Grade security tip: secure your computer
Secure student grades by manually locking your UQ computer when you leave your desk or office.
