When you create a padlet, you will need to select a privacy option prior to sharing it with students.

1. Set link privacy

Visitor permissions

By default, Visitor permissions are set to Writer to ensure that students can contribute to your Padlet.

For step-by-step instructions on how to change a padlet's privacy settings, refer to the Adjust your privacy settings guide by Padlet.

Link privacy

Secret (no login required) - Default

If you choose the Secret option, your padlet will only be accessible to those you share the link with. Students will be able to access the Padlet via a link or QR code without being required to log into their Office365 account first. As a result, any students who are not logged in will contribute anonymously.

Tip: If you want to identify student posts, either ask students to add their name to each post title or direct them to the PadletUQ student guides with explicit instructions to log into their Office365 account prior to contributing.

Org only (login required)

If you choose the Org only option, students will be required to log into their Office365 account in order to access your Padlet. The benefit of this option is that student names will appear automatically on posts if Author and timestamp are enabled in the Padlet settings.

Note: Please be aware that your Padlet will be searchable and accessible to all UQ staff and students if it is set to Org only.
