Digital Teaching Standard Dashboard

The Digital Teaching Standards (DTS) Dashboard is developed for Course Coordinators and Learning Designers (reviewers) to review their course design based on UQ Digital Teaching Threshold Standards.

Once the courses have been registered to be reviewed, Course Coordinators and Learning Designers will be added to the dashboard as reviewers of their respective courses.

Two possibilities of the review work arrangement are:

Course Coordinators and Learning Designers work in collaboration to submit one review, or
Course Coordinators and Learning Designers each complete their review of the course and submit it separately. The dashboard will incorporate these reviews into one summary report.

Two stages in the review are:

Course Coordinators and Learning Designers (in cooperation or separation) complete the review of the course, and
Course Coordinators develop an action plan based on the review summary

Review a course

First, reviewers will receive an invitation email which contains a link to the DTS dashboard.

Click on the link to access the dashboard.

At the start of the review, reviewers' homepage will display Course Summary and Assigned Course Reviews tables.

Course Summary indicates the status of the review and the action plan stages
Assigned Course Reviews indicates the course to be reviewed.

Reviewers start by clicking on the Undertake Review button.

For collaborative review between a Course Coordinator and a Learning Designer, click on the Collaborative submission from both reviewers button. Do NOT enable this function for separate review.

Reviewers will review eight groups of standards to decide whether the standards are Evident, Not Evident, or Not Applicable in their course.

Enter text comments if necessary for each criterion.

Note: All questions are required to be answered. For the criterion that is Not Evident, reviewers should describe the issue in the comments field.

In case you need more guidance or explanation about the standards, click on the STANDARDS GUIDANCE button.

Click on the plus ( + ) button the expand on the standard that you need more information on.

Click on the Next button to go to the next page of the survey.

Click on the Next button at the end of each page.

Note: Reviewers can go back to the previous standard by clicking on the Previous button.

On the last page, click on the Preview button to preview the review.

Click on the Complete button to submit the review.

Click on the Home button to return to the home screen.

At this point, reviewers can preview their review summary again if needed by clicking on the View Review Summary button.

The review collates data from multiple reviewers (if the reviews were completed by each reviewer separately).

Note: This is the read-only version of the review summary.

Click on the plus ( + ) button to expand on the standard that you need more information on.

Develop an action plan based on the review

Once the review stage is completed, the Action Plan stage is activated and is available only for Course Coordinators.

Click on the Create Action Plan button.

The review summary collates data from multiple reviewers (if the reviews were completed by each reviewer separately).
Click on the Next button to start developing the action plan.

For the criterion that was marked as Not Evident and the reviewers have entered comments (e.g. explanations and possible measures), these comments can be converted to Action plan items.

Click on the Convert to Action button.

Optionally, some Action Plan Items have been suggested which Course Coordinators can consider selecting for their course. Select the one that is suitable.

Additional action plan items can be added by:

Entering the action on the Custom Actions textbox, and
Clicking on the Add Action button.

If required, click on the bin icon to remove a custom action.

Click on the Save button.
Click on the Submit Action Plan button when completed.

The To-do list screen is displayed.

Action items can be marked as "In Progress" or "Complete." Once the actions in the list have been undertaken, click on the Complete Todo List button to complete the review process.

Click on the Home button.

The status is Completed for both Review and Action Plan stages.
