12. Transfer Exam Results to Grade Centre

    Assessment#3 in this sample course is an online Exam (Inspera test, marked out of 100 and worth 40%). To transfer the exam results from Inspera to Grade Centre, four steps are required.

    1. Create a column to record the exam results in Grade Centre.
    2. Download Grade Centre.
    3. Download and prepare the exam results report file.
    4. Upload exam results to Grade Centre

    Tasks to complete

    Create an Exam column

    1. From the Control Panel, select Grade Centre Full Grade Centre
    2. Click on the Create Column button on the top left of the screen
    3. Enter Exam into the Column Name textbox
    4. Select Score from the Primary Display drop-down menu
    5. Enter 100 in the Points Possible textbox
    6. Under Options:
      • select the Yes radio button for the setting Include this column in Grade Centre calculations
      • select the No radio button for the setting Show this column to students
      • select the No radio button for the setting Show statistics (average and median) for this column to Students in My Grades
    7. Click on the Submit button.

    Download Grade Centre

    1. From the Control Panel select Grade Centre > Full Grade Centre
    2. Hover the mouse over the Work Offline button, select Download from the drop down list
    3. Under DATA>>Select Data to download, select Full Grade Centre
    4. Under OPTIONS:
      • select No for Include Hidden Columns
    5. Click on the Submit button
    6. Click on the DOWNLOAD button
    7. Change the file name to Backup Grade Centre
    8. Open up the file to view (select yes). Keep this file open.

    Download and prepare the exam result file:

    1. Download the sample Inspera results report here. (In real course, exam results file needs to be downloaded from Inspera system)
    2. Open up the file to view.
    3. Delete columns Question_1 to Question_10
    4. From the downloaded Grade Centre file, Copy column heading you have created above; in this example, the column heading is Username 
    5. Paste the column heading to replace the column heading CandidateId in the Inspera results report file (use Control V)
    6. From the downloaded Grade Centre file, copy the column heading you have created above; in this example, the column heading is Exam [Total Pts: 100 Score] |588789.
    7. Paste the column heading to replace the column heading TotalScore in the Inspera results report file (use Control V).
    8. Click on save and close the file Inspera results report.

    Upload exam results to Grade Centre

    1. From the Control Panel, select Grade Centre > Full Grade Centre
    2. Click on the Work Offline button on the top left of the grade centre grid, select Upload from the drop-down menu.
    3. Click on the Browse My Computer button.
    4. Select the Inspera results report file
    5. Click on the Submit button.
    6. Click on the Submit button (there is a green tick to show that the upload has matched).
    7. Full Grade Centre will be displayed to view the marks.
